Trivia Night - Fundraiser for trip to Newks, Texas in September 2026
Notting Hill / Pinewood Tennis Club
18:00 – 23:00
Join us for a great family social event and fundraising trivia night.
All proceeds from the night will be used to reduce the costs of travel for a group of young tennis players travelling to the John Newcombe Tennis Academy to train for two weeks in September this year. These players and their trip supervisors come from all around Melbourne.
Your registration fee includes:
BBQ at the start of the evening (soft drinks, wine and beer available at tennis club bar prices)
A platter of sweets per table and tea and coffee
Being part of a team for the trivia competition
Prizes for members of the winning team
Participation in all the activities with extra prizes on offer
A ticket to the raffle on the night to win a great prize/prizes
Register as an individual (adults $50 and juniors (aged 13 and under) $35), or as a table of 8 and get a table discount of $50. Either way, make sure you have a great team name for your table and let us know who you want to sit with, or whether you are happy for us to put you on a table with others. Need a table name? No problem. For an extra $10 donation, you can buy one of the table names available when you purchase your tickets.
Wine, beer and soft drinks will be available at the venue for purchase.

AO 2025 Fundraising Sweep and Raffle

This is a fundraising sweep for AO 2025 and raffle. All proceeds will offset the costs of 12 players going to the Newks tennis ranch in Texas in 2025.
Each envelope is numbered from 1 to 128 and has one female player and one male player, also numbered 1 to 128 from the top to the bottom of the draw.
The winner and the runner up of the AO male and female draws will win prizes. There are also 3 raffle prizes which will be drawn using the envelope numbers.
When all envelopes are sold, I will email all ticket holders player and other prize information.
Ticket numbers will be allocated in order of purchase.

Fundraising Major Raffle

This is a major fundraising raffle to support players travelling to the US to train and play at the John Newcombe Tennis Academy in Texas. All proceeds will go towards offsetting the cost of the trip for the players' families.
Only 100 tickets at $50 each will be sold, and with 34 prizes that is better than a 1 in 3 chance of winning a prize from a prize pool worth over $6,800.
To ensure everyone gets a chance to win a prize that they want, 35 tickets will be drawn and winners will be contacted in order of ticket drawn and will be asked to nominate the prize they want from the amazing list of prizes below.

Fundraising Art Raffle - your chance to win original art for $50

This is a fundraiser for our Tennis Association's trip to Newks in September 2024. The grandmother of one of our trip participants is an artist and has generously offered 2 of her paintings to help raise funds to reduce costs for the whole group.
When you buy a ticket, you will be allocated a number between 1 to 100. When all tickets are sold, we will do a random draw with two winners. The first number drawn will choose from the 10 different artworks attached (artwork size and RRP at is shown on the last image). The second number drawn will choose 1 piece of art from the remaining 9 pieces.
All the artworks are original pieces, valued between $480 and $1000. painted by Venita Burns. Venita is an Australian artist located in Albert Park. She is part of an Artist's Group that showcases art at their annual exhibition in Melbourne. Go to the link for ticket sales to see all the paintings and their sizes.
Anyone that misses out on a piece of artwork they like can be put in touch with the artist and they can make a purchase direct.

We also have two players joining our group from Warrnambool this year.

US College Training and Player Evaluation Workshops

If you are considering US College as a pathway for your tennis development, then this event is a must. Run by Bill Riddle, a veteran US College coach who is representing the recruitment needs of multiple College coaches from across the US.
The program includes:
2 hours of structured drills and matchplay to enable player evaluation
Information session (parents welcome to attend) - morning and aternoon sessions combined
Recruitment takeaways including a player guide to play college tennis, recruiting video script
Follow up free zoom call or meeting with Coach Bill to discuss player College options
Snacks and drinks
There is one session available (limited places) - 4 hours in duration (2 hours on court, 2 hours information sessions and Q&A over lunch).
The full cost is AUD$99 per player (discount available for player in the Associations Cup Carnival being held Dec 20 and 21 2023).
About the Coach: Bill Riddle

Bill is a veteran tennis coach with over 35 years of college, junior and club coaching and management experiences and is recognized as a High-Performance Tennis Specialist by the PTR, USPTA & USTA.
Bill has over 200 career wins as a college Head Tennis Coach. He currently serves as the Men’s & Women’s Head Tennis Coach at The University of Tennessee Southern. His college teams and players have had success both on and off court at the national levels, and he has coached 6 All-American players and numerous with national singles and doubles rankings. While coaching college tennis he was a two-time recipient of the USPTA Southern Division College Coach of the Year award and a two-time ITA/ USTA College Coaches Community Service award. Additionally, he was named TranSouth Conference Coach of the Year and Regional Coach of the Year.
Bill has conducted player evaluations and seminars in a variety of countries including Australia, New Zealand, China, England, Bermuda, Jamaica, Holland, Spain, France, Canada, Sweden and throughout the Caribbean and the USA.
He has organized and directed tennis camps internationally for both adults and junior tennis players for the last 12 years. A highlight was working as part of the production team with the Classic of Champions legends event in Sweden in 2010 and 2011.
Bill is a long-time member of the HEAD/PENN advisory team and has been an Adidas tennis ambassador for 15 years.

The position of Treasurer and Secretary are also vacant.
