Welcome to Waverley Tennis

We organise competition leagues, events and development opportunities for member clubs and their junior and senior players.  We support and promote the growth, development and enjoyment of tennis in the local community.

We do this by offering:

  • Local competition leagues for clubs
  • Junior development pathways
  • Tennis events

Founded in July 1979, Waverley Tennis is one of the largest and most proactive Tennis Associations in Victoria. It offers a range of weekly competition formats from beginners to high performance players across age groups, as well as convening/organising Tennis Australia sanctioned Australian Money Tournaments (AMTs) and Junior Tournaments (JTs) and inter-association representative events.

Our values support our aims and represent who we are now and where we want to be in the future:

  • ProgressiveContinually evolve what we do to meet the changing needs of clubs and their players and the junior players who represent Waverley Association.
  • Excellent - Strive to do everything we do to a high standard and keep looking for better ways to do things.
  • Enjoyment - To put enjoyment and love of tennis front and centre of everything we do.
  • Professional - To be professional in all aspects of association management, competition and event organisation and pathway development.
  • Growth - Promote tennis locally and within our member clubs to ensure viable team entries and competition tennis sections and leagues.
  • Integrity - To act ethically and in the best interest of Waverley Association and member clubs to achieve our purpose, mission and vision.

All proceeds from the night will be used to reduce the costs of travel for a group of young tennis players travelling to the John Newcombe Tennis Academy to train for two weeks in September this year. These players and their trip supervisors come from all around Melbourne. Your registration fee includes: BBQ at the start of the evening (soft drinks, wine and beer available at tennis club bar prices) A platter of sweets per table and tea and coffee Being part of a team for the trivia competition Prizes for members of the winning team Participation in all the activities with extra prizes on offer A ticket to the raffle on the night to win a great prize/prizes Register as an individual (adults $50 and juniors (aged 13 and under) $35), or as a table of 8 and get a table discount of $50. Either way, make sure you have a great team name for your table and let us know who you want to sit with, or whether you are happy for us to put you on a table with others. Need a table name? No problem. For an extra $10 donation, you can buy one of the table names available when you purchase your tickets. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be available at the venue for purchase.     It's an all inclusive night, and you won't have to put your hand in your pocket for anything else on the night except drinks from the bar (wine by the glass or bottle, selection of beers and soft drinks). We currently have limited stocks of some great wine available that can be pre-ordered. Depending on demand we will source some other good offers and some white wine too. Come along to pit your wits against the other tables, test your general knowledge, arts and entertainment and sports trivia, and be in the running to share the spoils from the winning table prize hamper.
